Environmental declaration: RoHS & REACH Directives

EG Electronics is an agency company with import and sale of varied products and components. We have a large number of suppliers and manufacturers who are scattered across the world with emphasis on Europe.                                              

We are certified both according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

REACH – Regulations, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals
The REACH Regulation (1907/2006) entered into force on June 1st, 2007 dealing with the Regulation, Evaluation and Authorization and Restriction of Chemical substances. The Regulation is principally aimed at manufacturers and importers of chemical substances.

EG Electronics is – according to the REACH requirements – qualified as a distributor and in particular, as a “importer of goods” where goods, according to the Regulation, is referred to any product, component or subassembly.

• EG Electronics can not be qualified as a manufacturer/importer of substances according to the REACH Regulation and is therefore not obliged to fulfill registration or pre-registration.

• EG Electronics perform activities necessary to fulfill the obligation in the supply chain. In particular: We have raised these issues with our suppliers and follow the implementation of REACH at our supplier’s side. REACH is a topic which is added to and monitored through our regular supplier evaluation. It is also implemented into our supplier qualification.

RoHS -  Restriction of Hazardous Substances 
The RoHS Directive (2002/95/EC)  restricts the use of dangerous substances (lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBB- polybrominated diphenyl ethers or decaBDE decabromodiphenyl ethers) in new electrical and electronic equipment, placed on the market from July 1st, 2006, in order to limit the use of these substances an therefore contribute to protect the environment.

EG Electronics – has taken measures and all products placed on the market conform to the requirements of the 2002/95/EC (and successive amendments).
